For matters requiring a vote from the general membership, each company is given one vote. Voting may be done at meetings or by other means in order to allow for absentee ballots. In advance of any vote, the conditions shall be defined, if not otherwise defined in these by-laws. Matters that affect the CCSA (such as amendments to the by-laws) or initiatives that are being submitted on behalf of the CCSA require prior notice to all members, require a quorum to vote and 2/3 majority to pass. A quorum is defined as a majority of the member companies. (eg. If there are 16 companies on the membership list, a quorum is defined as 9 members, and 6 votes out of 9 constitute a 2/3 vote.) Ad hoc sub-committees may define their own voting practices as necessary, however, matters affecting the CCSA or being submitted on behalf of CCSA require approval of the general membership.
